The Company has two business units: Hoku Materials and Hoku Solar. In September 2010, the Company discontinued the operations of its third business unit, Hoku Fuel Cells. Westinghouse Solar Inc. (Ticker: WEST – trades Over-the-Counter)
Westinghouse Solar, Inc. is a designer and manufacturer of solar power systems and solar panels with integrated micro inverters (which the Company calls alternate current (AC) solar panels). The Company’s products are designed for use in solar power systems for residential and commercial rooftop customers. XSUNX, Inc. (Ticker: XSNX – trades Over-the-Counter)
XsunX, Inc. (XsunX) is a development-stage company. The Company is developing and has begun to market a hybrid manufacturing solution to produce high-performance copper indium gallium (di) selenide (CIGS) thin film solar cells. Its pending system and processing technology, which it calls CIGSolar, focuses on the mass production of individual thin-film CIGS solar cells that match silicon solar cell dimensions and can be offered as a non-toxic, high-efficiency and lowest-cost alternative to the use of silicon solar cells. The Company focuses on offering licenses for the use of the CIGSolar process technology thereby generating revenue streams through licensing fees and manufacturing royalties for the use of the technology. The Company has designed a system for a process known as co-evaporation used in the manufacture of the solar absorbing material CIGS.
